Leandro Mendaros Rivera

Leandro "Jr" Rivera was born on March 3, 1930 in the province of Zambales, Philippines. He graduated as an Aeronautical Engineer from Feati University Manila, Philippines in the year 1954. Leandro passed away peacefully on February 17, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Leandro married Erlinda Costales Rivera, who was a dentist in the Philippines, on December 23, 1962 and a year later they were blessed with two children, Frederick and Dennis. Both are married, Frederick to Vanessa and Dennis to Frances. Dennis has two sons, Robert and Dennis, Jr. (DJ) and a beautiful daughter Crystal. In 1969 Leandro and Erlinda decided to immigrate to the United States to start a new life of opportunity. With their earnings they were able to acquire a home of their own and permanently reside in Daly City. Leandro worked for United Airlines for 25 years and Erlinda worked at the Verterans Medical Center for 30 years. Both retired after many years of hard work.

Leandro and Erlinda enjoyed traveling around the world and took many cruises. Leandro dedicated his years to his family but mostly to his precious grandchildren.

He will always be remembered for being loving, thoughtful, generous and hardworking a devoted husband, caring father and loving grandfather.

Leandro is survived by his wife Erlinda, his children Frederick (Vanessa), Dennis (Frances), his grandchildren who were his pride and joy Crystal, Bobby, DJ and great grandson Edward Anthony.
